Did you know your acid reflux can be caused by too low stomach acid inside your body?
I speak to so many people that have PPIs, which are acid blockers. These stop your body's natural production of acids. Also, a lot of studies have shown that this is an irreversible damage - this adds to the reason why a lot of people have low stomach acids.
If you want to do a simple at home test to see if you have low stomach acid, what you can do is get a quarter of a teaspoon of baking soda in 110mil of water; and have it on a totally empty stomach first thing in the morning. If you burp in the first 1-3 minutes, it shows that your stomach acid levels are okay. If you're not burping in the first 1-3, or even 5 minutes, it's very likely you've got low stomach acid.
