Mr. Beast has Crohn’s disease and when he did a 14-day fast, he felt absolutely terrible. He said he felt fatigued all the time, lost a lot of muscle mass, and he didn’t have any of the mental clarity and any of the benefits that anyone said on the internet. I know this is down to the fact that he has Crohn’s disease and an autoimmune condition.
If you’re suffering from an autoimmune condition, I don’t recommend fasting because your body is already tired - you’re running on empty already. If you don’t put food in, you’ll run out of resources.
Even if you start eating again, you can’t just put the muscle back on - it takes time. If you’re suffering with an autoimmune condition, I don’t recommend fasting. With my clients, I get them on a cleanse first and then I get them eating proper food.
It is best to get 2 - 2.2g of protein per kilogram of body weight and have sufficient carbs to make sure you have enough calories and energy for the day.
